Heart attack is a phrase used for the condition which is characterized by reduced or totally stopped supply of blood to a section of heart muscles. This causes a reversible ischemic cell injury which results in cell necrosis and cell death if the blood supply is not restored. The most common cause of myocardial infarction or commonly known as heart attack is blockage of coronary artery.
